Sarayu Felicia Grahnt came to Hatu with her father after traveling with a gypsy caravan all her life. As such, she gave in to the stereotype, and
has a knack for picking pockets and picking locks (though she no longer does it... often). Sarayu is the textbook definition of a tomboy; She enjoys fistfighting, and is a skilled martial artist, and is even strong enough to dead lift up to 300 pounds (400 if she's been drinking). She is also quite the grease monkey, being able to work her way through and around technology, such as automobiles, record players, and radios. Sarayu always refrains from wearing dresses when she can, but will settle on "less girly" dresses if the need arises. Sarayu is slow to trust, and will often go off on strangers for being suspicious. She is very protective of her friends, and will pummel any who try and hurt them.

Sarayu is the longtime girlfriend of Alexander O'Reilly, after harboring a crush on him just a few weeks after she moved into Hatu when she was 12, after he had defended her from racist bullies. Vampires such as she receive a large brunt of bigotry to this day. A year later, Sarayu and Alex began dating. She also made quick friends with his friends, Isaac and Felix. Isaac and she both enjoyed fighting, and commonly spar with another. Sarayu and Felix had their interest in technology in common, and would tinker together. After Alex brought Sasha back from over seas, she and Sarayu clicked quickly, both being tomboys and being more interested in "masculine" things (though sewing is her guilty pleasure). She isn't too fond of Xavier or Arachnus.

The only dress Sarayu won't hesitate to wear is the one she made herself. It is made of horse leather, and holds all the tools she needs when in her workshop. When fully equipped, it weighs almost 70 pounds. But being even more muscular than even her boyfriend, she can handle it with ease. As for weapons, Sarayu is usually wearing a pair of cestus' at all times, since they don't get in the way of anything. Those steel-studded, leather gauntlets, combined with her knowledge in martial arts taught to her by some in the gypsy caravan, makes for a deadly pugilist in close quarters.

As a Vampire, Sarayu is a vegetarian, being unable to digest proteins that her body still requires. She gets these proteins with animal blood, since those proteins have already been synthesized. And, information private only to her and her boyfriend, she also takes blood directly from Alex's neck that he willingly gives (an act considered almost sexual, which they are no strangers to by now). Other downsides to her being a Vampire is that she often naps during the day due to her being naturally nocturnal, and having to wear eyesight-enhancing goggles to make up for her poor vision.
